These past two month's have been set aside for further training. I am always learning and investing in myself to keep up with developing new skills and following new trends in the newborn & baby portraiture genre.
It was great to attend another fabulous training day with the amazing Claire Elliott, and learn along side like minded people with similar goals and aspirations. As well as covering the all important health & safety of posing delicate newborns safely, we also learned new skills to composite images more effectively after using the safe posing techniques demonstrated. Babies are delicate and need to be safe throughout their photo session, and some newly established newborn photographer's with very little experience in the safety side of safely conducting a complex pose can ultimately put your baby at risk. When searching for a newborn photographer, the 'lowest price' may not always be the best option. Professional Baby photographer's may appear expensive compared to the 'new ones' that appear, this is because we invest money and time into specialist training and learning from leading newborn photographer's how to pose babies safely and correctly. Can you put a price on your babies safety? Please do your re-search on your photographer, ask if they have had specific training in Newborn photography. With the internet and social media now sharing photo's from across the globe, I have witnessed some newborn photo's that are putting that little one in danger. There are photo's circulating around the net of babies squished into glass jars which could potentially shatter, babies in the 'froggy' pose with no support - which could injure their necks, babies placed on or in items where they could fall, the list goes on. It breaks my heart seeing photo's and video footage of these sessions taking place, where the parent's are not aware of the potential dangers occurring. I came away from the workshop with new friends, and a lot of new information and posing skills. I have posted a few of my favourite images from the training day below. I take bookings from as early as your 20 week scan to ensure your baby can be guaranteed a space.
